When situations arise that prevent birds from being stocked, which in many cases is a moment’s notice, the Department may not be able, in a timely fashion, to notify hunters of the delay. Stocking could change due to weather and/or road conditions, but our personnel will do everything reasonable to get pheasants stocked as scheduled. Areas with increased cover and hunt ability may receive more stockings, whereas areas with poor cover may receive fewer. Hunting pressure as a result of limited access due to weather/fire or cover loss may cause schedules to change. Stockings rates and frequency are very important to bird farm staff and they will try hard to maintain the schedule above.
Stocking numbers may fluctuate depending on weather and other circumstances beyond our control.
